baby girl

My poor little Gigi has had some hard times recently.

First, Jack was rough housing with her and bit her face. It was an accident. He's so much bigger than her, and I don't think he realized that he did it. We took her to the vet where they shaved her face, cleaned her wound, and gave us the dreaded cone.

Gigi didn't mind the cone so much. She really liked that Jack couldn't get at her face, but I think she didn't like the fact that she couldn't climb up the stairs.

Her face has healed, but her troubles don't end there. At one point Jack scratched one of her eyes.  It kept getting worse, so off to the vet we went. Again. It turns out that it is really easy for dogs to get ulcers in their eyes if they get scratched. Now there is pain medication and eye drops every two hours. Oh, and the fear that if her ulcer melts then her eye will have to be removed.

And here's a picture of Jack, just so you know that I'm not mad at him. I understand that it was all an accident. He didn't mean to be so mean to Gigi. But that's what happens, because they are dogs.
