Houston, we have an adventure

For his birthday, I surprised Scott with a trip to Space Center Houston (aka NASA).

I love the architecture at Johnson Space Center. How cool does the building that holds the control room look?

This is the control room for all of the Apollo missions. I love the teal, metal desks.

Best picture of the day.

My favorite part was the Rocket Park. You can see how these machines inspired science-fiction.

I can't explain why, but this looks like a Vogon to me.

This looks like it's straight out of a George Lucas film. It's actually part of the never used Apollo 18 shuttle (or is it a rocket?).

I hadn't been to Space Center Houston or Johnson Space Center since I was little, so it was nice to go there with a fresh set of eyes. Scott enjoyed it more than me, though. I guess you get a little used to NASA and space and astronauts when you grow up around Houston. I'm just glad that he had a blast (heehee, pun intended)!
